Canton elected a mayor who uploaded a video of animal abuse before being arrested for using a drone to look at women after they got out of the shower. Many of the residents who have an online presence make excuses for it and say it isn’t true, while community leaders like Matt Jennings block any conversation about it online. The weak DA gave Shawn Packard a sweetheart deal and left him plead to the lesser charge of trespassing.
Ask yourself the question, why would you want to live in such a place?
1.Drug Problem: That small town meth charm.
Canton, Pennsylvania, and the surrounding Bradford County region have experienced a significant and ongoing drug problem, primarily driven by methamphetamine and heroin trafficking, resulting in numerous arrests, task force investigations, and court cases.

Recent Drug Activity and Incidents
Recent Arrests (2024-2025)
Recent law enforcement actions have continued to target the area. For example, a Columbia Crossroads woman (near Canton) was charged for selling large quantities of methamphetamine on multiple occasions in 2024. Another individual from Troy was arrested for drug distribution following a traffic stop on Route 14 in Canton Township in 2023.
Heroin and Meth Trafficking
A 2014 investigation highlighted a major heroin network in Canton, where residents were arrested for delivering heroin from a home on Tioga Street.
Manufacturing and Distribution
A three-month investigation in 2024 led to the arrest of a Canton man on charges of manufacturing and delivering controlled substances.
The drug issue is not isolated to Canton, as Bradford County frequently conducts regional drug stings. In 2022, 27 people were charged in a county-wide investigation focusing on meth and heroin, and another bust in 2016 involved suspects from Canton, Towanda, Athens, and surrounding areas.
2.Dronegate.
The Mayor Elect, Shawn Packard, was arrested in December of 2025 after a woman who had just got out of the shower noticed a drone hovering by her window. Packard claims the charges are politically motivated, and that the police are trying to stop him from being mayor by charging him with a crime that doesn’t stop him from being the mayor.
So one of two things is true:
- The future mayor of Canton PA used a drone to look at naked women after they got out of the shower, or
- The local police force invents elaborate charges to incriminate innocent people, which I personally find hard to believe.
Either way, why would anyone want to visit such a place?

3.They elected a mayor who previously uploaded videos of animal abuse to his facebook page.
Yes, you heard that right. Mayor elect Shawn Packard uploaded a video of him claiming to give wine to what appeared to be a young dog. Intentionally giving your dog wine is considered animal abuse because alcohol is toxic to dogs and can cause severe illness or death, even in small amounts. Wine is also made from grapes, which is another extremely toxic food for dogs, it can cause acute kidney failure.
Even after uploading this sick act to his personal Facebook page, Canton residents still showed up in record numbers to elect him.

4.They love to hide their sins
When the news broke that Shawn Packard, the future mayor, was arrested for using a drone to look at naked women in their house, the community instantly went into action to hide the story. The moderator of the largest facebook group for Canton, Matt Jennings, blocked any conversation about this, and the community came out in numbers to attack any media company that mentioned this.
